Douglas win Féile Peil Final
Douglas had a convincing win over Nemo Rangers in the Féile Peil final played at Páirc uí Rinn on Saturday 24th April. Douglas will now represent Cork in the national finals to be played in Derry during the summer.
Barr's defeat Douglas in under 21 final
Last Saturday evening (24/02/10) St. Finbarr’s defeated Douglas in the under 21 final on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-10. Outstanding points from Finbarr Desmond and Cormac Collins were the highlight of the first half. However, scores were always going to be hard to acquire in a game played in poor weather conditions and the critical score of the game arrived in the dying embers of the first half when the Barr’s goaled. This was the first goal of the championship campaign conceded by a Douglas defence where Bryan McPolin has been brilliant in goal.
Under 21 footballers reach championship final
Extra time was needed to separate Douglas and Bishopstown in the semi-final of the unde 21 football championship at Ballinlough on Saturday 17th April. In a titanic struggle both defences were on top and little separated the sides throughout this absorbing contest.
Under 21 footballers advance to championship semi-final
Short several of their regulars the Douglas senior hurlers travelled East on Sunday evening for a league encounter with Midleton and were unfortunate to lose by a solitary point. Meanwhile, the under 21 footballers dug deep to see off the challenge of a very well prepared St. Vincent’s side on Easter Monday at Ballinlough to advance to a championship semi-final showdown with southside rivals Bishopstown. Playing against the breeze Douglas were grateful for an outstanding first half save from brilliant goal keeper Bryan McPolin as Vincent’s threatened to forge an early lead.
Victory Dinner
The Rochestown Park Hotel is the venue for the victory dinner to honour the success of the Douglas 2009 Intermediate hurling championship winning team and the Junior "B" championship and Seandun Cup double winning team. The following are the details:

Minor hurlers record league win
The Douglas minor hurlers maintained their unbeaten streak in the league with a win over Eire Og on St. Patrick’s Day. During a tough opening half Martin Barry scored some fine points from both frees and open play. Alan Cadogan chipped in with a goal and Douglas led by 1-06 to 1-04 at the interval. Once again the Douglas defence was rock solid with Sean Fogarty and Seán Collins especially prominent.
Tadhg Crowley Plate and Seandun Cup successes for Douglas
On Tuesday 16th March, the Douglas senior footballers shrugged aside the adverse weather conditions in Cloughduv to beat Bishopstown in the final of the Tadhg Crowley Plate. This was a great boost as the countdown to championship begins. Meanwhile, on St. Patrick's Day Whitescross provided the opposition for the Junior “B” footballers in the Seandun Cup final played at Rathpeacon, but again Douglas secured the silverware.

Fieldng a very under strength team, we lost our unbeaten run which stretched back to April 2009 when going under to a very fit Ballinora side by the narrowest of margins in round 3 of this year's league.
